RURAL CHARACTER

Here's some NK rural character...
The NK Town Council has chosen to put the $3 million that it would take to fix all of the Post Roadphone poles into a fund to build a $10 million recreation center. NK paid National Grid (2016/2017) to do a study to see what this would cost. The $3 million could come from the $11 million American Rescue Plan Act, money given to North Kingstown, but the TC has chosen to not move forward with the pole project, and to instead earmark this money as 'seed money' for the $10 million rec center that has not been voted on by the citizens. The Post Road merchants have clearly stated that the biggest impediments to their businesses are both the phone poles and the NG easements.
Is this really what we want in Wickford? Ask the bus drivers.

The state law is very specific and it is up to DEM and CRMC to make sure it is adhered to. Rights of Way need to be marked and not blocked by adjacent neighbors of taken over. You can not take over a Right of Way by adverse possession as it is state property. The problem is getting DEM and CRMC to make sure that these rights of way are open to the public. ~Richard Welch
